Bogotá, our time was too brief

Writer: Sam CoxSam Cox

I suspect "vibrant" is an adjective that will feature prominently in describing these travels. But, it seems a word made for this part of the world. Bogotá is a thumping place that seems to cater to all. It was just a whirlwind day and a half in Colombia's capital, drinking fancy coffee, taking in the local art (of all kinds) and scaling the incredible heights of the surrounding mountains (and almost regretting the decision to walk up instead of opting for the cable car - we sensibly took the funicular back down). Amongst it all, we were lucky to get to see lots of different sides of the city, driving through the barrios and past tent cities, wandering the buzzing old town, and sipping world class cocktails at the ritzy end of town. A fascinating, welcoming and exciting city and I wish we'd been able to stay longer.
