A 20 minute flight, or 8 to 10 hour bus ride from Medellin (we flew) will find you in the sleepy mountain town of Salento. It's the place which has felt the most "Spanish" of our stays in Colombia. Quaint little family run restaurants line the streets, offering cheap, home style food, often with a guitarist in the corner. Saloon style bars offer billiards or the local's favourite game, where rocks are thrown at pits of clay that contain little packets of explosives - 9 points if you set one off! Ranch style "willys" (open-top jeeps) will take you from the town square to the stunning Colcoa Valley for a walk amongst Colombia's famous wax palms and a visit to a hummingbird sanctuary in the jungle. But the star attraction here is the coffee - the hills surrounding the town are lined with plantations as far as the eye can see. We took in a fascinating tour of one of the oldest, and learned that we had a lot to learn about coffee! An understated and absolutely charming place.

I can’t get over how good the photos are. Loving the camera I see - perfect for wildlife photography and panoramics
Ah! The magic humming bird shot. Awesome update.😍
Just gets better and better. I was watching that game at work the other day and showed the video to dad and said I wonder if Sam will see this somewhere 🤣🤣
